Accessing magic lantern canon t5i software#
My apologies if this is the wrong place for "bug reports" but I'm assuming this issue happens just with 700D? I'll do a search also to see if this is more common or if I posted in wrong area. The developers are currently working on the software to support the Canon 70D, Canon SL1/100D, Canon T5/1200D, and Canon XSi/450D. I don't actually own an HD TV (I know… I know) so maybe this only happens with the AV cable that breaks out to standard composite output on RCA, but it is an issue. When ML is booted, when the intermittent video output appears, colors are over-saturated.

I assume that you have CF cards with a sustained write speed fast enough to record RAW. According to my recollection, the 12 min limit is when recording H.264, RAW is limited to the size of your memory card. Additionally when ML isn't active, colors look more true on the external monitor. Re: Magic Lantern for Canon 5D Mark II - Need Help. If I hold down the Set button while turning on the 700D and bypass ML, the output to the external monitor is steady. Turns out that the video output of live view to the external monitor is not stable when the 700D is booted with ML. Whats more, using it will more than likely void the cameras warranty, if, in fact, the camera is still within the warranty period. I'm using an external standard def monitor with the Canon AV cable just so I can see framing.

Thanks for helping with the newbie question and for your patience if this post isn't appropriate for this topic.ĭid a shoot today with my 700D and wanted to use ML for the intervalometer function so I could take a series of photos spaced a few seconds apart. Hence I'm asking about this in "camera specific" discussion.Ī couple of questions for those with T5i's:Ģ) Does anybody know normal safe operating temperature range for the sensor?ģ) Is bypassing ML on boot by holding the Set button *exactly* like not having ML installed at all? Should temperature stay the same as when running it pure Canon firmware mode with no boot flag, etc.?

I spoke to a professional I know here locally who has a 60D and said he has no problems, but he thinks it could vary from model to model. C and the temp number appeared in a yellow "caution" box. But within minutes it was up to 47-48 and then hit 50 deg. When I first starting using ML the sensor temp was 39 deg. I was shooting video for a while with it before installing ML, then installed ML and shot more video. It remains to be seen what the continuous recording resolution will be. For the technically inclined here’s the thread at Magic Lantern detailing the progress towards a higher than 2K crop mode.

But I did notice that the camera seemed to run warmer with ML. Released back in 2013, the T5i was the final Rebel with the old 18MP sensor, before the shift to 24MP with the 750D in 2015. I recently purchased the T5i and installed ML on it and was of course thrilled with all the features it brings. I'm posting it in "camera specific" because it might be something specific to certain cameras. I apologize if this isn't the proper place to post this.
